Access the Ladder to English Advancement: I admire my father
I admire my father, who owned his own business for many years. He was hard-working, always out there meeting with people, and had strong communication skills. He always taught me to be honest, put my best foot-forward, and that my work product was a reflection on me and how seriously I took my job and the people I work for, so I should always strive to do my very best and be proud of my accomplishments.
A: I admire my father, who lives with me in Oak Park
Do I strive to be a gentleman? I guess I do. I admire my father, my grandfather and other gentlemen I've been fortunate enough to meet in my life, and I try to be more like them.
Noel Alquiza, Metro Manila: The constant presence of my father in our family makes us feel secure and happy in spite of the hardships we face in our life. Though he is not religious (outwardly in terms of church rituals) because of the nature of his work, he did not forget to impart wisdom about the existence of God in me: “How high is the sky and low is the earth, God hears the voice of man, and others”. These are the important qualities I admire in my father in spite of his imperfections and weaknesses. My father, Bob Endre, is the person I admire most. He has always been someone I have looked up to. When I was young I looked up to my dad because he would spend time with me and we would have fun together. I also looked up to him because I thought he was smart, because he would always help me with my homework. However, as I have grown older, I realize that there are many other reasons I admire my father. For example, my father is the district manager for his company. His job requires him to work long hours, and to always be on the top of his game. Yet every soccer game, rugby match, and concert my sisters and I have, my dad is always present. I admire how much my dad cares for his family. I also admire how helpful my dad is. He is the one person I feel comfortable asking anything to. I trust his advice, and even after long days at work my dad will always listen to me. Overall, my dad is a great person, who I highly admire.
